Tablet PC operating system

The operating system used in a tablet PC, such as :

  • Symbian
An operating system developed by Nokia. Nokia uses this operating system on different variants of phones that they develop.

  • Android
An operating system that is open-source developed by the Open Handset Alliance. Most tablet PC that is currently using this operating system. The operating system is built using Java and runs in the Java Virtual Machine.

  • . IOS

An operating system developed by Apple and installed on the iPad (and iPhone). The operating system was developed using C language

  • MeeGo
MeeGo is made with a combination of Nokia (with Maemo) and Intel (with Moblin). In addition to use on a tablet PC, the operating system can also be used on smartphones, netbooks.

  • WebOS
Made by Palm, and gadgets that use the operating system is the Palm Pre.

  • BlackBerry OS
Developed by RIM (Research In Motion) and installed on BlackBerry devices.

  • Windows Mobile
An operating system developed by Microsoft.

  • Windows Phone 7
Widely used in today's mobile devices that support the wide range of applications such as social networking, gaming and so on.

  • Windows 7
An operating system for a tablet PC that supports a handwriting-recognition (tablet PC is the ability to recognize the posts that go primarily signature, it is useful mainly to identify anyone using) and the use of tablet-input-panel. The development is a change in the taskbar wider and other design changes so that the use of pen / finger becomes much easier than using other operating systems (Vista or XP).

Tablet PC Model

A tablet PC generally has two models, namely :

  • Model Convertible
Shaped like a standard notebook with the keyboard and the screen can be rotated 180 degrees. The advantage is you can use it like a notebook and can type faster using the QWERTY keyboard. Since the screen can be rotated, vulnerable broken due to frequent playing. Other than that, the display model will be more severe than the slate models.

  • Slate Model
Not having a keyboard and a screen that can be rotated. This shape is slimmer and lighter, as well as when it will be more comfortable to type on it. You do not need to rush to bring the keyboard.

Input to the tablet using a pen that ability would be minimal when using the keyboard.

History of Tablet PC

Tablet PCs, before the iPad has also been produced, but when it is due to the relatively expensive, battery-intensive and less attractive appearance, making the tablet PC on the market unsold. There are several other products that had previously been out before the arrival of the iPad, among others :

  • Gridpad
Emerging as the first tablet PC in 1990, with the touch screen and stylus technology. Because the fees are too high to make this product can not be developed further.

  • Apple MessagePad
In 1993, Apple released the Apple MessagePad products are equipped with a touch screen that is able to recognize patterns, although still relatively weak writing. Due to the high price and the lack of additional applications that make Apple MessagePad can not last long.

  • The tablet motion computing notebook M1200
In 2002, the product was introduced tablet motion computing notebook M1200 using windows operating system tablet PC. Battery life is weak and excessive heat generated makes this product to be submerged in the market.

  • HP TouchSmart TM2 Tablet
In 2010, Hewlett-Packard released the HP TouchSmart TM2 Tablet that has a touch screen display and can rotate.

Some terms about motherboard

The following are some terms relating to the motherboard you need to know :

  • BIOS (Basic Input Output System), is a means of communication between the operating system with the hardware installed on the motherboard.
  • Bus, a term which states that the data flow system used hardware. Bus is installed on the motherboard which is used to communicate with the processor. Units used are usually the frequency (Hz) or bit data width.
  • FSB, which stands for Front Side Bus, is a major bus that connects the processor to the motherboard chipset.
  • Heatsink, diletakkandi components on processors, is used to absorb the heat generated when the processor works. Heatsinks are usually equipped with a fan to keep the processor temperature remains stable. Casing is used also need to be considered to have a good air circulation system so that the heat of the processor can be down with a good flow of air.

  • Check Speed, is the speed of a processor or other components. Figures clock speed is the product of the multiplier to the FSB. The higher the clock speed, the higher the performance generated by the processor or hardware components that exist. Units used are megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz).
  • Overclocking, a technique that is done to improve the performance of a processor, memory, graphics card or by increasing the FSB clock speed component. Usually these techniques will result in excessive heat than before so it required a special cooling both components to be upgraded performance. If excessive heat is not addressed it will result in damage to other components on the computer, so as to carry out the technique you need to provide either cooling or fan and the casing is right in order to reduce the excessive heat.
